Slightly larger than life-sized, the Eric Morecambe statue celebrates his comic humour, depicting him in one of his characteristic poses with binoculars around his neck.
The tribute was unveiled by the Queen in 1999 and since that date people have queued to have their photo taken alongside it.
The statue is set against the stunning backdrop of Morecambe Bay and the Lake District hills.
The arena below it befits such a star of TV and quotes from his entertainment partnership with Ernie Wise are carved into the stone bands around a central star.
At night the area is illuminated with lighting effects.
Accessibility
Eric is accessible via steps or ramp. Care needs to be taken when steps are wet.
