Topiary Gardens
Initiated over 300 years ago the 10 acres of mature and atmospheric gardens surround the beautiful stone house.
The topiary design and plantings are extraordinary, being both mature and contemporary and leaves the visitor with a sense of wonder, pleasure and joy at having strayed into such a magical place.
The Hall claims the topiary is the finest, oldest and most extensive topiary garden in the world. The gardeners and volunteers do their best to keep beautiful and stunning designs perfectly groomed and styled.
Feature trees by the dozen, walkways, circles and a maze are laid out in a feast of magnificent abstract geometric spectacles that leave the viewer asking, where did that come from?
Some of the hundreds of trees are designed to identifiable items and all are formed from the tight growing small leafed varieties.
Tree trimming is carried out just once, in September by the highly skilled gardners.
